Method for Adding Kerosene - Pinch the sides of the lighter casing (the windshield) with your thumb and index finger, then pull the inner chamber straight up to remove it. Lift the cap at the bottom of the inner chamber. Aim the spout of the kerosene bottle at the cotton and slowly and steadily inject kerosene into the cotton. Typically, fill it to about 2/3 to 3/4 of the cotton’s capacity (it should feel moist but not show any obvious oil droplets or pools). After refueling, let the lighter sit for a few minutes (2-5 minutes).
